Please set Simmons Connection as your homepage in your browser before April 28, 2013

Your browser "homepage" is the Web page you see each time you open a new browser window. To set Simmons Connection as your homepage, follow the instructions for your specific browser type.

Internet Explore

To set your homepage in Internet Explore 6 or later on Microsoft Windows:

  1. Open the Internet Explore browser.
  2. Select Tools from top menu. If you don't see this menu at the top, press the Alt Key.
  3. Select Internet Options.
  4. On the "General" tab, in the "Home page" text box, type: http://connection.simmons.edu
      Note: The "Home page" box can contain multiple URLs. If you want Simmons Connection to be the first tab when your browser opens, make sure http://connection.simmons.edu is the first URL in this box.
  5. Select Apply
  6. Select OK.

Firefox on Windows

To set your homepage in Mozilla Firefox 16 or later on Microsoft Windows:

  1. Open the Firefox browser.
  2. Select Tools from top menu. If you don't see this menu at the top, press the Alt Key.
  3. Select Options. The Options dialog box appear.
  4. Select the General tab if not already selected.
  5. Under "Startup", select the Show my home page in the drop-down to the right of "When Firefox starts:".
  6. Enter http://connection.simmons.edu in the "Home Page" text box.
  7. Select OK.

Safari on Windows

To set your homepage in Safari 1 or later for Microsoft Windows:

  1. Open the Safari browser.
  2. Select Edit from top menu. If you don't see this menu at the top, press the Alt Key.
  3. Select Preferences or click the cog icon in the upper-right and select Preferences. The "Preferences" window appear.
  4. Select the General tab.
  5. Enter http://connection.simmons.edu in the"Homepage" text box.
  6. Select Close.

Chrome on Windows

To set your homepage in Chrome 18 or later for Microsoft Windows:

  1. Open the Chrome browser.
  2. Sign in to Chrome if you have not already done so. (Optional)
  3. Select the Customize and control Google Chrome icon (the icon with three bars to the right of the URL box).
  4. Select Settings.
  5. Under "On startup", select the Open a specific page or set of pages button.
  6. Select Set Pages.
  7. Enter http://connection.simmons.edu in the field provided.
  8. Select OK to save your settings.

Firefox on Mac

To set your homepage in Mozilla Firefox 16 or later on Mac OS X:

  1. Open the Firefox browser.
  2. Select Firefox.
  3. Select Preferences. The Preferences dialog box appear.
  4. Under "On startup", select the General tab if not already selected.
  5. Choose Show my home page in the drop-down to the right of "When Firefox starts:".
  6. Enter http://connection.simmons.edu in the "Home Page" text box.
  7. Select OK.

Safari on Mac

To set your homepage in Safari 1 or later for Mac OS X:

  1. Open the Safari browser.
  2. Select Safari.
  3. Select Preferences. The "Preferences" window appear.
  4. Select the General tab.
  5. Enter http://connection.simmons.edu in the"Homepage" text box.
  6. Select Close.

Chrome on Mac

To set your homepage in Chrome 18 or later for Mac OS X:

  1. Open the Chrome browser.
  2. Sign in to Chrome if you have not already done so. (Optional)
